Boldly to the Throne

Have you ever felt pressed by life and don’t know what to do? When I feel overwhelmed or pressed by a situation the Holy Psiirt leads me to this verse

15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:15-16 (NLT)

As I was reading Hebrews 4:15-16, the Lord pointed out the word boldly. Boldly in greek means “Parrhesia” — Freedom of speech or to speak without ambiguity. Plainly when we go to God He desires us to be bold with Him, not holding back but to lay everything at His feet (Matthew 11:28-30).

In the New Testament, speaking boldly was restricted and it came with punishment if you violated the rules. Coming boldly to God means coming without fear and being honest with Him about your situation. I have notice lately that many people are afraid to come to the alter and may view it as a judgement zone that they are living in sin. When we should view it as a sacrifice to God__ when we come to God we should be laying down everything and sacrificing everything just to be in His presence. The alter should be a place of healing, restoration, deliverance, worship, etc. not judgment from others. Also, we can’t be afraid that God may rebuke us when we come to Him because when we speak feely from out hearts and come boldly we obtain mercy, and find Grace to help us in the time of need (Heb. 4:16).

When we speak freely with our hearts it allows God to correct any wrong doing we may have, which guide us to what the Word of God (Bible) says about the situation. When God corrects us, it is not to condemn us but it is to prune us into the person He desires us to be. When we come to God, He gives us everything we need.

So, How can we obtain what God has for us?

If is never too difficult for God to give, but it may be more difficult for you to receive.

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. James 1:5-7 (NLT)

God wants to bless you abundantly, more than you could ever ask or think; but are you in position to receive? Are you focused on Christ or are you allowing distractions to clutter you with worries, fear, shame, doubt, etc. You can not expect to receive anything from God with your loyalty is divided between the world and Christ. When we go to God, your faith must be in Him alone and not of things of this world. Go Boldly to God and watch Him restore you.

Let’s look at the word obtain. Obtain in greek means Lambano — to seize or to lay hold of something in order to make it your very own. The level you’re able to recieve from God is determined by you ability to lay hold of the very thing He is trying to give you.

For example: You desire God to help you with your negative thinking but you do not take actions steps to prevent negative thoughts—you allow negative thoughts to run ramped without casting them down (2 Corinthians 10:5). When we have the Holy Spirit we have all power to cast down anything that goes against the knowledge of God. When you receive by faith, Jesus is always willing to give you what you need. Along with mercy , we also are able to find Grace to help in time of need. Any time you find something you have been searching for, come with great joy (Mathew 7:8). I come to encourage you to keep seeking God, and keep asking. Allow Jesus to go to battle for you for any and every situation — You will find deliverance and freedom when you present your needs to Him by faith and go BOLDY TO THE THRONE.
