Colliding with Destiny

When you collide with Destiny there is no turning back. It’s a sudden shift from where you use to be and who you use to be. Colliding with your destiny is a predetermined course that God had already set up just for you; therefore, your Destiny is not something you can set up because it is already planned by God. Colliding with Destiny means a sudden change in habits, lifestyle, thought patterns, behaviors, etc.

Please read John 4: 1-42 for the full story

Jesus and the Samaritan Woman

4 Jesus[a] knew the Pharisees had heard that he was baptizing and making more disciples than John 2 (though Jesus himself didn’t baptize them—his disciples did). 3 So he left Judea and returned to Galilee.4 He had to go through Samaria on the way. 5 Eventually he came to the Samaritan village of Sychar, near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime. 7 Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” 8 He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food.9 The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans.[b] She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?”10 Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”11 “But sir, you don’t have a rope or a bucket,” she said, “and this well is very deep. Where would you get this living water? 12 And besides, do you think you’re greater than our ancestor Jacob, who gave us this well? How can you offer better water than he and his sons and his animals enjoyed?”13 Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. 14 But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”15 “Please, sir,” the woman said, “give me this water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again, and I won’t have to come here to get water.”16 “Go and get your husband,” Jesus told her.17 “I don’t have a husband,” the woman replied.Jesus said, “You’re right! You don’t have a husband— 18 for you have had five husbands, and you aren’t even married to the man you’re living with now. You certainly spoke the truth!”

As I looked at the Samaritan woman at the well… it looked like there was no purpose or Destiny for her life. She was an outcast, and many would consider her a not righteous… She had 5 husbands and wasn’t married to the man she lived with currently to (John 4:17-18). I am sure she felt degraded, forgotten, less than, and judged by others.

The Lord briefly reminded me when we have people coming into the Church… how do we approach them? Do we approach them with love or judge them by their sins?

I remember coming into a church broken and wanting to give my life to Christ in the midst of my homosexual lifestyle. I had no idea I was about to collide into my Destiny. We never know what people may be going through; therefore, we need to be  sensitive to the holy spirit, yet firm when leading people to Christ. Showing the love of God can help individuals collide into their Destiny. Jesus approached the Samaritan women with loving arms and offered her eternal life to replace the voids she apparently tried to fill with men. She collided with her destiny… she went from a person who was bound by ungodly relationships to receiving living water (Jesus Christ). The living water (Jesus Christ) will never run dry in her life. Colliding with Destiny does not hinder your ability to grow as a person; it shifts you into position, and it’s a sudden acknowledgement that your life will never be the same. Your destiny is your relationship with Christ. It’s that epitome of a fulfilled life.

Are you colliding with Destiny?

You can only collide with destiny from having an encounter with Jesus Christ. The Samaritan woman was drawing from a well that could never satisfy her. She was drawing from men whether it was sexually, emotionally, or financially; she was not drawing from Jesus Christ.

What are you drawing from?

9 The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans.[a] She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you offer better water than he and his sons and his animals enjoyed?”13 Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again." John 4:9-13

Worldly things that appear to give you satisfaction really do not. The Samaritan woman was drawing from the well of men… men who probably left her empty and coming back for the same dysfunction. We can’t continue to draw from wells that can’t fulfill us. For example: TV shows, friends, relationships, etc.

I am sure people were amazed when they saw a change in the Samaritan woman.

39 "Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!” John 4:39

People may not understand why God choose you. I believe there was a divined reason Jesus approached her alone. Just imagine when your colliding with a person … it just you and them. You may feel by yourself, isolated, etc. but sometimes God will put us into position where we are desperate for him, so can collide into our destiny.

If you desire a shift in your life or to collide into your destiny. The first step is to allow God to take control over your life. Maybe you feel like the Samaritan woman, where she was considered an outcast, not righteous, rejected, etc. Just like the Samaritan woman you can collide into your destiny and be all who God called you to be. Maybe you don’t see yourself as the Samaritan woman and maybe you know Jesus, but you got complacent in your walk with God. I dare you to call on Jesus Christ right now for you to collide into your destiny. Colliding into your destiny is a sudden shift in your life to be whole, healed, delivered and drawing deeper into the well of Jesus Christ where you will never thirst again.

We all ask for things and pray that God continue to bless us, but we have to understand the most important gift God has/will ever give us is enteral life. If you have not collided into your destiny, please say this pray with me...

Dear Lord, forgive me for my sins. I am in desperate need of a savior. I ask you to come into my life and become my Lord and personal savior. I believe you (Jesus Christ) died for my sins so that I may have eternal life. Today, I desire to collide into my destiny, so I can be a living vessel for your kingdom. I will collide into my destiny, not just for today but for the rest of my life. In Jesus name, Amen!
