Not Forgotten

At some point in life we may have all felt forgotten or may presently feel forgotten. You may feel like you should’ve been at a certain level in life, should’ve experienced this or that by now,  or you may see others on social media and feel like God is blessing them and not you. Whatever is causing that feelings of feeling forgotten, I am telling you is not from God but from the enemy. I just recently purchased apparel from a friend who just started a Christian Jewelry and Apparel line called ‘Not Forgotten'. Please check out her blog ministry and online store. She is so anointed and really is doing awesome things for the kingdom of God.

I mentioned her ministry because I recently purchased a shirt from her online store. The shirt was not only cute but it reminded me to not feel forgotten and it also provided me an opportunity to share with others that they are not forgotten as well. As I was wearing the shirt, the Lord quickly spoke to me about feeling forgotten. I believe we all have those moments of doubt, discouragement, thoughts if God really can use you, etc. The enemy can quickly place negative thoughts in our mind as we scroll on Facebook or Instagram.

How quickly are we aware of those negative thoughts?

We must be aware when the enemy tries to attack us in our mind. 2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV) says, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” As the Lord spoke to me I told him, “Lord sometimes I do feel forgotten and have doubt but I continue to have faith and trust you with my life.” Ladies, we have to be honest and real with God. Even Abraham and Sarah struggled in this area (Genesis 16); therefore, it is important to be aware when doubts, feeling forgotten comes in your mind.  The Lord led me to this scripture as I was talking to him about my feelings.

John 15: 1-11

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”

The above scripture highlights how Jesus is the true vine, we are the branches, and the importance of being connected and remaining in Him. Ladies, when we feel forgotten that is when we have to evaluate if we are plugged into Christ. John 15:4 says, Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

What fruit do we produce when we remain in Jesus?

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control." Galatians 5:22 -23 22

When we are connected to Christ, we don’t entertain the lies of the enemy!! Remaining in Jesus produces joy, peace, patience, etc. If you feel forgotten get connected to Jesus and He will give you joy, peace, and patience in trusting Him with every area of your life.

If you feel like you’re not where you want to be, or feel like you should be doing more with your life then I dare you to give that mindset and area to God, pure your heart out to Him and tell Jesus how you really feel. God truly cares about his daughters!! Anytime you feel forgotten I believe that it is God calling you to draw closer to Him, to connect and remain in Him.

Isaiah 40:29-31 says, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Roman 4:18-20 also reminds us of Abrahams faith and the importance of trusting God when we feel forgotten. I love referencing Abraham because I am sure he felt forgotten by God, but the Bible let us know Abraham kept hoping and believing in God. We have to keep hoping and have faith that we are not forgotten, and God had something specifically for us. So, there is no need to compare our life to others, have jealousy, or feel forgotten.

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32

If God gave up his only Son for us, I believe God will not withhold anything good from us!

Luke 11:13 says, "So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him." Therefore ladies God loves us, and we have to believe and speak the truth over our lives.

I encourage you to read Psalm 37:1-7, which encourages us to trust, delight, commit everything to God, be still in His presence, and not worry. When we remain in God and delight ourselves in Him we shall prosper, and our godly desires will be filled.

Although sometimes we may feel forgotten, we must remember during that very moment to  stir ourselves up in the Lord and remind ourselves of what the word says. You are not forgotten but chosen by God to do a great and mighty work for Him. Trust the process ladies because greater is coming. Be fully convinced that God is able to do whatever He has promised. Love you ladies and remember you are not forgotten!!
